Chuck the iPod But Keep iTunes
Finally, after a long wait, iTunes has become DRM-free! What this means is - you can now play your purchased songs on other music players apart from your iPod... Freedom!
Why was DRM implemented in the first place? Here's what Steve Jobs himself has to say:
Since Apple does not own or control any music itself, it must license the rights to distribute music from others, primarily the "big four" music companies: Universal, Sony BMG, Warner and EMI. These four companies control the distribution of over 70% of the world's music. When Apple approached these companies to license their music to distribute legally over the Internet, they were extremely cautious and required Apple to protect their music from being illegally copied. The solution was to create a DRM system, which envelopes each song purchased from the iTunes store in special and secret software so that it cannot be played on unauthorized devices.
Now, for an additional 30 cents per track, you can now replace your iTunes-purchased songs to DRM-free versions. And download new music DRM-free! Although these may still be in AAC format (which isn't as common as the MP3) you won't find it hard to find great music players that support that audio format.
However, there are a lot of people who would love to try other music players that probably suit their style a little bit more but wouldn't want to trade iTunes. This is still possible.
There is available software, like iTunes Agent or iTunes Sync that will help iTunes recognize or work with other music players apart from the iPod. As long as you can make iTunes communicate with your music player, your possibilities for unrestricted sound tripping is endless.

Quality Online Roofing Resources
I recently had the need to come up with relatively useful definitions of some roofing terms and also some guides and opinions regarding roofing methods. I stumbled upon some useful online resources that provide the things that I need and also may also be helpful to other users out there.
Here is a list and some descriptions of some of the sites I have found:
1. Garlandco.com – It is a roofing company that has been in business since 1895. What generally caught my attention was their PowerPoint presentation that provides an overview of the most common types of roofing systems that are available in the commercial market place today. Other information include in the presentation are brief description, history and application of each system and lastly, the advantages and disadvantages of each roofing system.
2. Roofing.com – It is a forum all about roofing. Its main feature is a forum area where there are active members. All posts are related to roofing and most members are highly knowledgeable when it comes to roofing both in theory and in practice.
It also has a Knowledge base area wherein forum members can give inputs like answers to frequently asked questions and some roofing guides. Within this area, you can find the definitions to most roofing terms.
The site also has a section wherein you can view the number of roofing jobs available per state. It also has a directory of roofing companies categorized by state.
All in all, the site is quite user-friendly and highly informative. Most of my friends also think that it is one good online resource site if the subject is roofing.
3. Roofersreview.com – Is a highly informative site dedicated to roofing. Here you can find local roofers through browsing photos of their works. Also, this site has been suggested to me by members of Roofing.com. They say the pictures they upload to this site help them get quick answers from other users of the forum.

You must define a purchase checklist and when you are about to make a purchase revert and re-read the questions in the checklist.
What is the price for the product / service?
Is this a regular price or a sale price?
If this is a sale price, how much am I saving over the regular price?
Do I really need it?
Can I cough up the cash to buy it today?
If not, where will the money come from?
If credit, what will be the credit cost?
If the credit costs are factored in, is it worth it?
Does the purchase really fill a need or want?
Can I justify this purchase to a friend?
Would I accept these reasons from someone else?
The above simple questions will help in slowing you down on your newer purchases. Try not to rack up any credit card debt along with the purchase. It does take little extra work but is very well worth in the end. Now with the money you save, work on your debt reduction plans.
